South Yard Reconfiguration

Golden, British Columbia

REMCAN was contracted by the Canadian Pacific Railway to aid in the reconfiguration of their South Yard in Golden, British Columbia. Including both track and civil construction tasks, the project required REMCAN to perform planning and realignment of the yard, and build all the necessary track and accompanying land preparations.

The South Yard at Golden was in need of upgrades and expansions, so that the complex series of tracks used to store, sort, load and unload cars was better equipped to handle the volume of trains coming in and out. The yard included several parallel lines, signals and communications and facilities for storing and loading of train cars. The entire project took 2 months’ time to complete and was done on time and on budget, with higher than expected quality.
