Concrete Box Installation

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Remcan was contracted to build out a new concrete box culvert in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta as a replacement for an aging bridge. The ongoing maintenance of bridges that cross over small streams and rivers can be a problem for the railway industry. A failure could spell disaster for both the rail line and the surrounding environment, and more and more frequently engineers and planners recommend replacing these bridges with culverts when the time comes.

Remcan took control of the project, cleaning and preparing the surrounding land, assessing the area for environmental concerns and risks, and finally installing a pre-fabricated concrete box culvert. The entire project took a total of 10 days and turned a maintenance heavy bridge into a low maintenance, safe and environmentally friendly culvert.
